Tracking carrier states
Our list of tracking states and the mapped carrier events in Track.
Tracking states are the mapped delivery events that Sorted Track uses to align with integrated carriers and the wide range of different states they use internally in tracking their deliveries.
Without this mapping in the Track platform, the list of delivery states each carrier uses would quickly disorganise and clutter any attempt to track your shipments. Therefore, we have mapped the states from our integrated carriers and use our own tracking states to simplify the differences between each carrier definition.
For example: DPD uses the definition “No Trace” for a package that may be missing. For the same situation, Evri uses the term “Missing Parcel”.
These differences between carrier states are very common and can be difficult to trace across multiple carriers. The Track platform streamlines these different states into the more generic term of a “Missing” package state.
This prevents you from having to cross-reference the different delivery states that a carrier uses as the Track platform condenses these terms into more simplified generic states.

Final tracking states
A final state, usually known as a terminating state, is when no further shipment processing is required. When a shipment goes into a final state it will not change, however Track will still process additional events from the carrier.
E.g. ‘Delivered’ or ‘Delivered damaged’ are all final states for a package.
However, some final states such as ‘Delivery Refused’, can transition to ‘Return to sender’ so a notification can be triggered.
No notifications or webhooks will be triggered for any further status updates once a final state has been reached.
A list of all Track’s final states is available here.
All final states per carrier are highlighted as a ’tick’ in far-right column in the table below.
